Microsoft has updated its PC Health Check software for customers who want to see whether their PCs officially match the system requirements for its newest operating system, Windows 11.

The initial version was chastised for failing to explain why a system was ineligible for Windows 11, but this seems to have been rectified in the update, which includes additional features such as a “view all results” option that explains why a system has passed or failed. Users will notice a list of possible causes, such as an unsupported CPU and/or a lack of TPM 2.0 support.

Back in August, Microsoft released an updated PC Health Check software, stating that it had made a mistake and was working on a fresh version, which is now accessible for everyone to download.

Following our June announcement, we recognized that the PC Health Check app provided an opportunity to improve clarity and accuracy. Windows Insiders will get an upgraded preview version of the PC Health Check app today. This upgraded version improves the eligibility check feature by adding more detailed and better eligibility message as well as links to pertinent support articles with possible repair procedures […]. We intend to re-release the PC Health Check app for public availability in the coming weeks, after a feedback session with Windows Insiders and further upgrades for the newly included CPUs.

Here is a direct access to the PC Health Check App executable. Otherwise, interested Windows 11 users may download the program via Microsoft’s official Windows 11 landing page, which can be found here.

On October 5, Windows 11 will be formally launched as part of a phased deployment for eligible computers.
